Further 8 Original Shoe Co and 2 Qube stores to close

More branches of the shoe chains, Original Shoe Co and Qube Footwear, owned by JJB Sports, have closed after the 2 chains went into administration last month. 8 Original Shoe Co shops in Aberdeen, Belfast, Carlisle, Glasgow, Greenock, Hull, Livingston, and Scunthorpe closed yesterday. And the Qube stores in Portsmouth and Northampton have also shut.

37 Original Shoe Co and 8 Qube store were closed in February. All JJB Sports stores remain open.

The future of fellow shoe chains, Nine West and Pied a Terre, remains uncertain (reported in 'In the News' on 3 March 2008).
