67% rise in complaints about baby buggies

The government-funded consumer advice service, Consumer Direct, has reported a 67% rise in complaints about baby buggies, compared to the same period last year. The complaints were mainly about poor customer service and faulty products. In many cases, the faults emerged after some use and therefore people were struggling to get the repairs or refunds they are entitled to.

Two baby equipment businesses have gone into administration in the last 3 months: JKUK which ran www.babies247.com and Two Left Feet ('In the News' on 29 Mar 09).
