British Gas cuts electricity prices by 10%

British Gas today became the last of the big 6 UK electricity companies to cut electricity prices, announcing a 10% reduction. E.ON, EDF Energy, NPower, Scottish Power and Scottish and Southern Energy reduced their prices in February and March (last reported in 'In the News' on 17 Mar 09).

Despite the cuts, many consumer groups believe energy providers should be cutting prices more because the wholesale price of energy has been falling at a greater rate than household prices.
