British Gas cut raises hopes of a price war

British Gas's cut in electricity prices by 10% yesterday (reported 'In the News'), has raised hopes of an energy price war. British Gas was the last of the big 6 energy companies to cuts electricity prices (the others cut prices in February/March). However the 10% British Gas cut is the largest this year and makes British Gas one of the cheapest energy providers on the market. This has fuelled hopes that more energy companies will cut prices to remain competitive.
