Ofcom want Sky to make their channels available

In a bid to open up the satellite television market, the industry regulator, Ofcom is proposing to force BSkyB to make their premium Sky channels, such as Sky Movies and Sky Sports, available to other retailers at capped prices. BSkyB has said it will strongly resist any such move.

On Wednesday, the sports broadcaster, Setanta went into administration ('In the News' on 24 Jun 09), furthering concerns that competition in the market is not as it should be.
