GP access on the high street
The Confederation of British Industry estimates the economy loses £1 billion and 38 million working hours through employees visiting their GP’s during work hours. In an effort to improve access to GP’s, health ministers are meeting high street retailers such as Boots, Lloyds Pharmacy and Virgin. They hope to encourage retailers to run surgeries on behalf of the NHS with surgeries offering more flexible arrangements for workers.
