BT claims market-leader status for broadband

BT now claims to be the market-leading broadband provider after it announced yesterday that it had passed the 4 million customer mark. Over the last 3 months, BT said that it had signed up nearly double the new customers that Talk Talk, its third-place rival, had done.

The news follows Virgin Media's announcement on Tuesday that it had added 13,000 new customers to its broadband service in the third quarter of this year (covered in yesterday's 'In the News').
