BAA plans second runway at Stansted
BAA released plans to build a second runway at London's Stansted airport. The second runway would cost approximately £2.5 billion to build and be completed by 2015. By 2030 it is expected to carry more than 68 million passengers a year. The plans are being fiercely opposed by the Stop Stansted Expansion campaign which is supported by 7,000 local residents, councillors, MP's and Greenpeace.
