AOL buys Bebo for $850 million
Bebo, the social networking website has been sold to AOL for an estimated $850 million (£425 million). Bebo was launched in 2005 and has over 40 million users worldwide. In 2005 MySpace was bought by News Corporation for £290 million and last year Microsoft paid £123 million for a 1.6% stake in Facebook.
