Online advertising company invites privacy scrutiny
Online advertising technology company, Phorm, which collects information about the browsing habits of internet users in order to display more relevant advertising, has called on members of the internet community to examine its technology after fears over privacy. Phorm claims that it is not 'big brother' and has opened its doors to give people 'the ability to spot inspect what it is we do'.
The Times, Daily Telegraph and Financial Times have all signed up to use the advertising service and BT, Virgin Media and Carphone Warehouse's TalkTalk are each trialling the service for their broadband offerings.
