Tesco to launch music download service
Next month Tesco's will launch Tesco Digital its online music service. Tesco Digital will offer 3.3 million music tracks, which will be compatible for Apple's iPod and other MP3 devices. Tesco's new service will compete directly with Apple's iTunes who recently bowed to pressure to drop download prices (as reported 'In the News' on 10 January). Tesco's will also be competing with other major download sites including HMV.co.uk and the recently launched service from Play.com (reported 'In the News' 14 February).
