Ofcom investigate Phones 4U over mis-selling
Yesterday Ofcom commenced an investigation in mobile phone retailer Phones 4U. Ofcom have singled out Phones 4U because of a high number of complaints received about mis-selling products and services. The investigation will last 6 months and includes practices such as unclaimable cashback deals and misrepresented terms of mobile phone plans. This autumn Ofcom are introducing a mandatory code of practice to ensure customers are properly informed about mobile phone contracts. The code was voluntary, however with the deluge of complaints received by Ofcom it hasn't been working.
