Ladbrokes chief executive bans staff from BA
The Chief Executive of Ladbrokes, Chris Bell, is preventing all his 14,000 staff to fly with British Airways (BA). This follows a dispute with BA as the airline tried to prevent his 14 year old daughter and a friend from boarding a flight from Barbados. BA checked-in Mr Bell, his daughter and her friend into their flight back to the UK, however then notified them that there was no space for the two girls and offered them £250 to stay in Barbados. After Mr Bell complained that he could not leave two 14 year old girls behind BA eventually found room for them. Outraged by BA's handling of this situation and the problems Ladbrokes staff had during the Terminal 5 fiasco, Mr Bell is preventing all BA flights unless there is no alternative. Ladbrokes spend £2 million a year on BA flights.
