Kitchen-table airline beats BA and Virgin as best in UK
The UK's favourite airline may also be one of its smallest, according to a new survey by consumer group Which?. Bournemouth-based Palmair, which has just one plane, a 35-year old Boeing 737, and whose seating plans are worked out on the kitchen table the night before, has been voted the country's best airline, beating larger UK-based rivals British Airways and Virgin Atlantic and coming third overall. The best airline overall was Singapore Airlines.
The survey sought ratings from 30,000 airline passengers on factors such as the cleanliness of the planes, the amount of legroom, the quality of the in-flight meal and the helpfulness of the cabin staff.
