In the News - Energy Prices
Energy prices could soon be double those in 2006
The cost of gas and electricity could be double compared to 2006 by the end of this year, according to an expert advising the 'Big Six' energy companies - British Gas, nPower, E.ON, Scottish Power, Scottish & Southern Energy and EDF Energy. Such an increase would mean the average household paying nearly £1,500 per year for their energy.
The increase is being blamed on the high oil price which recently peaked at US$140 per barrel.
