YouTube forced to disclose millions of users' details
The personal details of millions of YouTube users could soon be disclosed to US media giant Viacom following a US court ruling in New York.
The ruling, which is part of a multi-million dollar lawsuit brought by Viacom against Google, YouTube's parent company, for allegedly allowing YouTube users to watch Viacom's copyrighted material without authorisation from Viacom, has worried privacy campaigners. Among the data to be disclosed are users' unique internet addresses (IP addresses), email accounts and video watching history.
