Less travel on BA as fuel surcharges take effect

BA's passenger numbers are down 3.7% in June. For June 2008 BA carried 2.91 million passengers, this is 87,000 less than June last year. BA's business class also fell sharply with passenger numbers down 3.1%. This follows BA's increase in fuel surcharges and the introduction of higher fuel surcharges for premium class passengers (reported 'In the News' 30 May and 23 June respectively).
