Independent supermarket chain defies trends
Booths, the UK's only remaining independent supermarket group, is reportedly defying downward trends in the supermarket sector by announcing a 30% increase in profit since last year. The 161-year old supermarket chain, which is known for its 'ethical' stance, locally-sourced foods and involvement in local communities, has seen rising competition from supermarkets such as Tesco. Nevertheless, it is said to be thriving.
