Ryanair announces winter flight cutbacks
Budget airline Ryanair is to ground 12 planes at Stansted airport this winter and close seven of its European bases after concerns about an airline industry downturn. The cutbacks, which are blamed on high landing fees at Stansted and the rising oil price, mean that Ryanair will carry about 900,000 fewer passengers through Stansted than last winter.
