Ryanair cut air fares to drive up demand
Budget airline Ryanair has cut prices on 20% of its routes, it was announced yesterday. The move, which is being seen by some as the first steps in an airline price war, will result in Ryanair losing at least £5 on each cut-price fare. Ryanair said that the price cuts were intended to stimulate demand for air travel after admitting that it cannot currently fill its planes.
