Water bills to exceed £300 per year

Water bills look set to rise to over £300 per year, it emerged yesterday. In proposals put to Ofwat, the water regulator, Thames Water said that it expected bills to rise from the current average of £280 to £303 in 2010-11. Northumbrian Water expects its average bills to rise by 1.3% above inflation in the next five years.
