Zoom Airlines ceases operations leaving passengers stranded

The UK/Canadian based airline, Zoom Airlines has ceased operations in advance of going into administration. This has left hundreds of passengers stranded at airports trying to get home. It first became apparent that Zoom Airlines was in severe financial difficulty on Wednesday when a flight from Paris was grounded at Calgary airport. Since then flights from Glasgow, Halifax and Vancouver airports have all been affected as Zoom Airlines have failed to pay overdue invoices to suppliers and contractors. This has left passengers struggling to get home. Passengers who bought tickets from the UK have been advised they may be able to claim through the Civil Aviation Authority’s Atol scheme or through their credit card company.
