NPower and Scottish Power increase prices
Last Friday, NPower and Scottish Power became the latest energy companies to increase prices. Now all of the 'big six' energy companies have increased their prices. NPower has increased its gas price by 26% and electricity by 14%. Scottish Power imposed the largest increase for gas, with prices raised by 34%. Scottish Power's electricity price increased by 9%. These latest price rises affect 11.8 million UK consumers. Both companies blame price increases in the wholesale gas and coal markets for the latest rises.
