Speculation mounts on XL Airways financial position

The collapse of Zoom Airlines (reported 'In the News' 29 August) has fueled speculation about the financial position of XL Leisure Group. The Group owns airline brand XL Airways which flies to more than 50 destinations worldwide. The Group's refinancing deal stalled after Barclays pulled out on the 14 August. However those close to the deal believe the refinancing will be resolved this week.
