Nokia launch ‘unlimited’ music service
Last night Nokia launched its new ‘unlimited’ music service. To gain access to the service consumers will have to buy a £129 pay-as-you-go mobile phone. The phone will be able to access Nokia’s Comes with Music brand which is partnered with major record labels EMI, Sony BMG, Universal and Warner. Users can use the unlimited download for a period of 12 months. After which the music is theirs to keep but free downloading is no longer available. Under the deal, Nokia will make a one off payment to the record companies each time it sells an applicable handset. The Comes with Music service is available in the UK from 16 October.
