John Lewis and Amazon nations favourite off and online stores

John Lewis has been named as the UK's favourite retailer according to Verdict's annual Consumer Satisfaction Index. John Lewis beat its cheaper rivals, showing that good customer service as well as price is valued in an economic downturn.

The online retailer Amazon came in third place. This suggests that despite the common customer service issues faced by online retailers, they can still compete and indeed beat high street retailers at service and satisfaction.

The Index was compiled from 6,000 shopper interviews. The top 10 are listed in order below with their respective plebble-ratings for comparison.
