Airlines not giving fair compensation for lost baggage

The UK's Air Transport Users Council (AUC) have produced a report showing that, not only was 2007 the worst in recent years for airlines losing or mishandling passenger baggage, but that airlines are often not being fair about compensation.

The AUC picked out the budget airlines, Ryanair and Easyject for particular criticism for scrimping on compensation. Passengers struggle to get everything they claim for unless they have itemised what was in their luggage and have a full set of receipts, which, in most cases, is unrealistic.
