I was selling my property through them. They broke the backdoor and refused to take responsibility. There I was thinking that they are useful for sellers. No they are a self centred organisation wanting to take advantage of everyone to make profit for themselves. All avoid these people at all costs.

Placed terrible tennants who wrecked the flat and offered no support to sort it out. Made mistakes on invoicing. Released personal details to contractors. Awful. I'll never use them again, either to buy, sell or rent.

When I finally interrupted the guy on the phone in his waterfall of justification why my flat had received just one viewing in 4 month, he told me "you are starting to annoy me now". Thumbs up for customer service, courtesy on the phone and general inability to do their job.

Took 3 months to fix a faulty tap for the shower meaning the shower was useless, told us we didnt have a garage when we did and found out 6 months through the lease, never gave us enough keys for the property, said they would pick up some of the previous tennants suitcases but they never did the police did in the end as they were full of weapons, never read any email that we sent them properly so multiple emails of simple clarification were a must, showed us properties out of our price range and location, 100% sided with the landlord, would not release our bond and broke every law out there in the process, I feel sorry for people who dont have access to the legal resources that I do.

Who would've thought it was possible to give *Estate Agents* a bad name? Well they managed it. How sad that their greedy, aggressive over expansion and predatory practices are rebounding in their face now there is a housing recession. Did they never hear "value of a property business can go up as well as down"?

My son and his university friends chose to rent a house through this organisation. They do nothing to enhance the name of estate agents, I found them rude, condescending and patronising. Please anyone using them please read ALL THE SMALL PRINT as they are masters at hiding charges. Probaly the worst company employing the worst people in the world.

All the negative things said about Foxtons below and elsewhere fit with my experience exactly.

Bought a house through them and rent it out through them. They rip me off at every opportunity, rarely return calls now that they have taken their fee (as opposed to phoing 2 or 3 times a day when "encouraging" me to sign) and are so bad at property management the tenants actually begged to report problems to me rather than go via Foxtons.
