I had a really bad experience with their wedding service. Really un-user friendly website. Loads of items not in stock. Items that were not in stock were converted to vouchers and no record of who's items these were so very difficult to do thank you letters. Delivery took an absolute age, they really push this to the limit of customers tolerance (and I work in mail order). Broken products and very badly packed.

Just ordered a load of baby stuff online - once again, quick, efficient delivery. I have never been able to fault John Lewis on service.

good service but slightly bemused by the fact you had to go to a customer service point to be allocated an assistant

Outstanding service and excellent company always my first choice to look for any "big" item. Staff in shops are always knowledgeable unlike going to other department stores

When our amazing value De Longhi coffee machine started to leak we took it back to John Lewis Southampton and without any questions or quibble, we were offered a replacement which was delivered free of charge to our door a few days later. Now that's what I call service!

I bought a spin dryer from John Lewis online. There was a part inside the drum that could not be removed and unpacked, it was so tightly inserted. I got no help from their customer service, who tried to pass the problem back to the manufacturer (blatantly against the law). Repeated requests for help were acknowledged but ignored, including photos I sent them of my arms bruised from trying to get this part out. (These photos were NOT acknowledged.) It took about two weeks of nudging, pushing and coaxing this part out (plus bruised arms) before I was able to use the damned machine, I've hated it ever since, even though it probably would have been rated better without the traumatic introduction. Extremely let down by John Lewis, who I thought had a good reputation. I will not shop there again.

Very good after sales service. Bought a slow cooker for my sister as a present. She only used it once and it was ok. The second time it would not work. Rang customer services at John Lewis and not only did they say dont worry about not havinng all the packaging but they let me exchange it for a smaller model, as my sister felt the original one was too big just for two people. The item was collected on the Wednesday and the replacement arrived on the Friday. All done in 5 days.
