Lloyds TSB Bank charge for debit card transactions for buying foreign currency in a UK Post Office, who are already charging for the service. Why? This is just a rip off. I should have gone to the ATM and drawn out the sterling equivalent and then paid cash. Better still, I won't use Lloyds TSB at all, and take my custom elsewhere.

Inept staff with little knowledge of the product they offer. Staff who tell you whatever it is they think you wish to hear in order to get you off the telephone. Staff who pass the buck and will not take ownership of a problem. A "customer service" dept which will not allow customers to speak directly to the person dealing with their complaint. An organisation which pays lip-service to the concept of customer care.

My husband recently had over £10,000 of fraud on his credit cards and the fraudster had even managed to change our address to somewhere in Manchester. The whole thing was a nightmare to resolve because we couldn't get to speak to anyone in the fraud team. Both customer service and our Lloyds TSB branch tried to get them to talk to us too, but for months and months, they just never called back (and we were not allowed to call them). All we wanted was 1. to understand how the address had been changed and whether this would affect anything else like our credit report and 2. to resolve which were our transactions and which were fraud. We've had money refunded in dribs and drabs, but to this day, have never had answers to our questions about the address change and 2. have no idea whether we've had the right amount refunded because we've never received a clear statement of what they've refunded us for or not, and with the interest charges and minimum payments, it's all totally confusing. Now we've just given up. This is in stark contrast to RBS creditcard fraud who send you a statement with a simple tickbox way of saying whether it was fraud of not next to each item. You sign and return and that's that. The Lloyds branch was excellent and supportive, but they desperately need to sort out their credit card fraud procedures, this time with the customer in mind.

The Del Boys of Insurance. Having been a customer for some years they hoofed up by home insurance renewal by £200, making them £500 more expensive than a cheaper quote I found from Direct Line. I felt ripped off and was also concerned that when I raised this with lloyds Insurance they simply didnt care.

Have been a customer of Lloyds for many years and have always been satisfied with the accuracy of accounts and the good attitude from staff. I recently wanted to borrow £5,000 to fund another car, went into this branch at 10 am without an appointment, and at 10.40 am came out with the full loan in cash in my pocket. Very good rate of interest at 6.25% and a couple of issues sorted out by their loans advisor telephoning their central loans department. Brilliant service. Also quite happy to pay £12 per month for the Gold Account which provides full travel insurance, AA , Mobile Phone insurance, Sentinel Credit Crad, etc. etc - for TWO people when a joint account is held. Good value.

I applied to open a clubs & societies account and as a new customer I had to take in ID, all of which took some time. The other co-signatory had to do the same. After two weeks I phoned and asked about progress with the account and they appear to have lost everything. I have no idea where the copies of my ID have gone and I was simply told to "come in and try again"

Fantastic service from Lloyds. Only bug bear is the phone calls to upgrade my account, despite me telling them I am happy (and on maternity so no need to upgrade at the moment) - but I suppose that's good marketing on their part. Staff are great in store, and on-line banking always smooth. A great company.
