I went in to the Kings Lynn store, ordered and paid for a new computer and software but the computer was not in stock. They charged me £9.99 to deliver it to me - what a bloody cheek!

Reserved an item online, went to store to collect and they tried to palm me off with a shop soiled item, asked to talk to the manager and a jumped up jedward came to see me. He was very rude and played the dont threaten me card when i knew i was in the right and told me he would call the police if i didnt leave. All this just for asking for the item i had reserved and not a shop soiled one is it to much to ask for a new item that has not been used and abused on the shop floor.

I bought a brand new laptop in this PC world branch. The laptop was crashing every 30-60 min from day 1, I sent it in as I had a warranty from PC World, The manager was extremely rude, hostile, didn’t want to know of anything and very uncooperative, basically she didn’t want to give the chance of proving that my newly bought laptop is faulty and I have just spent about £500 for a piece of junk. So there PC World - "With you every step of the way" Indeed you are!

I was a bit shocked at the service I received at PC World in Bedford on two seperate occassions recently - it was very good. Staff were courteous and the checkout people hand you a receipt like the Japanese hand you a business card (two handed - thumbs on top). A far cry from service I've had there in the past and a big improvement. Credit where it's due...

Their collect in store service is actually pretty good. This makes them more competitive, which is great considering their in store prices are normally over priced.

Truly the demi-gods of poor customer service. Through previous experience, I knew exactly what I was dealing with but in some cases their hardware and software bundles are excellent value for money. I was made to wait 20 minutes to be served and walked out. On my return a second time, the same wait occured (Staples Corner Branch). A Mac purchase produced the same wait. The sales rep maintained they had no models of the version required in stock. Even though I had it stock checked by their telephone support line before I visted. After complaining to the manager about the service, he stated all seven systems had been sold in the last 20 minutes. When I told him I didn't believe him, he said he would prove it by checking the stock himself. Magically seven new systems had just been delivered that moment! The sales assistant then proceeded to process us and missed the additional software on the receipt as he thought it was in the box. I checked before I left and no software was included. The door guard wouldn't let us have the software as it was not on the invoice. I called the manager over a second time and again berated him for poor customer service and how his staff were wasting his time because they were not adequately trained. I got the software and made the exit within the hour. Lucky I knew what I wanted! You could call me awkward but I have found it the most efficient way of dealing with this company. Always get a name, always ask for the manager and never be afraid to nail anything you think they have missed. The prices can be very good, the service dreadful and god help anyone who doesn't keep their receipts and packaging. Oh yes and one thing to their credit the manager gave us a free "dust bust" as compensation for the poor service after we decided not to enjoy a free month on their incredibly expensive support contract. Born yesterday not.... (Yep - just check out the list of exlusion for Mac customers on that one). Now how about the story…

epitomises "rip off" britain. the only reason you would consider paying way over the odds for commoditised goods would be if the service was worth it. it isn't . 16 yr olds who only know where it is not what it is and who's only insight into its functionality is by reading the box. even if you dodecide to buy something they'll be a long queue to the only till open. hate the place with a vengence.

I needed to buy a new lap top and visited PC World in Oxford twice before completing transaction. Both times the staff were helpful and knowledgeable and I am satisfied that the product they recommended met my needs. The only thing they could not do was get rid of Vista! But that gripe is against Microsoft and not PC World.

Dreadful. Special offer on printer had finished day before. Signs still out but wouldn't sell it.
