Post Office broadband gave me a start date for my broadband srvice, the without bothering to tellme put the date back by a week. Their general attitude is tht thay don't give a dam, and if you don't like it take your custom eslewhere. If you are looking for poor customer ser vice and poorly trained staff switch go Post Office broadband and that's what you'll get.

Been a farce from start to finish, messed up direct debit from the start. Took them three months to get broadband working properly and 6 months after starting with them billing is still not sorted out because they seem incapable of setting up a direct debit.

In my village post office - Longparish, Hampshire, they are still using Salter spring scales - circa 1948 - which, even in their day, were reputed to be most unreliable. I used them in the sub-post office the other day to check the weight of a couple of overseas parcels and they weighed just under two kilo but the sub was closed - Wednesday afternoon - so I returned the following day and the parcels were each just over weight but, after I had moved the scales to another part of the counter, they weighed just under two kilo. The sub post mistress told me that she had been there since 1977 and the scales had never been checked by Royal Mail (or anyone else). She realised that there were more accurate scales available now for post offices but sub post offices were forced to buy their own. Surely, for a professionally managed business who are trying desperately to keep pace with modern technology they could, if that is the rule, and with so many sub-post offices forced to close, re-allocate those scales to those needing to update their scales....not only that they are cheating their customers quite often and - who knows THEY MAY EVEN BE THE VICTIMS OF THEIR OWN MEANNESS!?

The Post Office seems to be getting a hard time in the press at the moment but I cannot fault my local Post Office counter. You always get service with a smile and great efficiency. It will be a loss to the village if it should ever close and it will mean a long drive to the next closest Counter, just something else to add to the increasing local traffic congestion.
