Had been a customer there in the past, and was not happy then. However as years had passed I foolishly thought that surely things must have improved and decided to seek a modern smartphone. Oh no they hadn't; pushy staff who lied about the options available and seemed determined to push me towards a Nexus, rubbishing Apple when I asked about iPhones. In the end I refused to buy anything.

I purchased a hands free device that fits to the car sun visor. It did not work properly, I could hardly hear and thing on it and neither could anyone I spoke to. I returned it within 3 days with a reciept and the original packaging for a refund. The store informed me I could have an exchange or a voucher. I rung customer services and they said the same thing. The thing did not work I should get my money back, but no, not at carphone warehouse. After weeks I eventually took a voucher and brought a phone as a present for someone. Will never go there again.

It was clearly "not fit for purpose" and under the Sale of Goods Act you are entitled to a proper refund - it was a pity you didn't take this up with your local Trading Standards office.

The store manager and his staff were woefully lacking in technical knowledge of the phone they were selling us even though we expressly explained what we needed the phone to do. When we tried to exchange the phone for one that worked in the way we wanted it to, the manager refused to help us. However, he said he could help if we handed over the brand new phone he had mis-sold us plus an extra £50 and he would miraculously produce a phone that does work but that we weren't allowed to mention any of this to the Carphone Warehouse. He would not tell us exactly where he would be obtaining this amazing replacement phone but did say he would meet us behind the store on his day off to complete the exchange. Now he is adamant that we buy the phone he suggested from him without notifying Carphone Warehouse or we would be stuck with the phone he originally mis-sold us. We have tried to contact Carphone Warehouse to discuss this but they will only help us if the offending store manager refers us to their helpline! It is infuriating.

Provided an upgrade to my o2 account that o2 could not match!!!. The assistant explained in full detail the transaction and stated if i get any problems to call back. Alas on charging the batery the on screen display told me the battery was fully charged and to switch off the charger, i found out to my cost this was not so and on telephoning the Bath brach, told me to take my phone to another closer branch where they would exchange the phone. My perception of Carphone warehouse has dramatically changed.

Very poor experience with Watford Branch. They refuse to change a phone bought in March 09(sent in for repair in May 09)The phone switches itself off at random; often the vibrate stays on for 10 minutes & won't turn off; but CPW say it is because we have damaged the input part. HOW would this affect the phone vibrating constantly?

Though the interaction with the representative was fine when I had a recent problem with my phone (polite and willing to help), it achieved nothing. I was told to call O2 (my service provider) instead. My understanding was that I was a Carphone Warehouse customer, but this is not the case. CW merely sold me the contract, I am actually an O2 customer. There is, therefore, no benefit that I can think of to buying a mobile phone from CW. Cut out the middleman and go straight to the phone provider would be my advice.

I am writing here with regards to a wrong billing that has taken place on my mobile phone account . I have been chasing for the refund of £397.24 for nearly the last 2 months and have not seen the ‘light at the end of the tunnel’ yet. Every time I try for getting the refund, I am being promised that it has been authorized and will be in my account shortly. I don’t even get to talk to anyone beyond your second level - Fanatical Team. I am extremely frustrated and find the service levels appalling. I hope my complaint here will help in the issue being sorted and the amount being refunded to my account immediately.
