Great food and great service. Only recently been able to shop in Waitrose as I'm working in England. Moving back to Scotland soon and will seriously miss the wonderful food in Waitrose. Some people say they are expensive, yes they are. Sorry but I don't want all supermarkets to be cheap, sometimes I want to spend money and get beautiful food for it. Unlike Markies where you spend lot money and yes, their food's good but not outstanding, certainly no better than Sainsburys which is much cheaper. I bought some rump steak from Waitrose, was BEAUTIFUL. Bought 'Taste the Difference' rump steak from Sainsburys more recently for about the same price and it's NOT as good as Waitrose.

Much as I love their stuff the plain and simple fact is that the same weekly shopped packed into the more chavvy orange carriers at the supermarket down the road is £60 a week cheaper. Loving the reassuringly remortgagable food shop at Waitrose but they are the wrong time wrong place supermarket for the credit crunch. Sorry

I love Waitrose food when I can afford to buy it. But I was shocked to see how badly they faired on how much packaging they use compared to other supermarkets (http://www.plebble.com/article950/how-does-your-favourite-supermarket-do-on-excessive-packaging/). I always thought Waitrose was one of the more ethical supermarkets. They have a reputation to protect and I would like to see them doing more on reducing waste.

yum yum, consistently yummy food delights. Who cares how much it costs. Do petrolheads drive skodas?

by far the best supermarket (totally chav free) but they really cut it fine on sell by dates at my local store. This is a real downside

Having just moved out of London I took a break from ordering my food from Waitrose to try out the local Tescos. A few months later and I am back with Waitrose and so much happier for it! What a dreary, depressing place Tescos is week after week. The Waitrose delivery staff are as cheery as ever and I get a free copy of The Times with my order. And their new-style website tells you whenever their prices match those of Tescos, making you feel even more glad to be back.
