We felt that although some of the food was excellent, some elements were also poor & not good value for money. Despite the lovely decor we were treated as part of the furniture ! Our meal had no garnish, no greenery whatsoever. I feel this pub concentrates on making money above all else & is only superficially good. But those of us looking for very good food and good value with a welcoming atmosphere should perhaps think again.I have now been twice to this pub & would hesitate before going again.

Exceptional food with a really homely environment. The service was friendly and promt. Overall in the area i dont know of many other places you can eat and drink such a quality range of dishes at a fair price. Definately not your average gastro pub, a cut above the rest. Top marks

The food was absolutely superb. Try their pork and black pudding spring rolls and you won't be disappointed. They also know how to cook a mean steak. However it is a pity the service let them down. It was perfectly friendly when it appeared but it hardly ever did leaving you feeling restless at the prospect of having to fight for the waiter's attention. So in summary they are half way there, they have got the food right now all they need to do is focus on the service.
