We use this site all the time. It is an awful scam where companies use 0870, 0844, and similar numbers and tell you that they are not premium rate - they are! This site often gives freephone numbers too. It's very satisfying when you are held in a queue but its costing them money instead of them making a profit from you. The site is a brilliant idea.

No one should ever ring an 0845/087.. number till the've checked this site first! The cost of calls to these non geographical numbers is a scandal especially when you have to sit on hold being told "your call is important to us" of course it is, the company are making a fortune out of you!!!!!!!!! Do your bit to stamp out this rotten scam whereby completely respectable companies request you call an 0845 or 0870 number in order to contact them. These numbers (known as non-geographic) are NEVER part of your inclusive call allowance on either mobiles or landlines and the company actually makes money on every call you make to them. In fact, they make more money if they keep you hanging on the line. This amazing website invites you to either enter the 0845 number in question or the company you're calling and a comprehensive list of alternatives usually shows up. Incredible. Over the last two or three years I must have saved at least a hundred quid. What astounds me is how the companies who use these types of number claim that it is "fairer" as everyone, no matter where they are, pays for just a "local call" and therefore they're doing us all a big favour. What astounds me more is why the telecom regulators haven't clamped down on this deceitful, and now almost universal, practice. So do your bit for fairness and use this site as often as you can (which believe me will be very often). Sites like this are truly the unsung heroes of the internet age.

I don't know of many 'reputable' companies that aren't in on this pitiful scam: making money out of the customer calling them by way of 0845 and 0870 numbers. Not only do they charge us for keeping us waiting, taking a cut of all call charges, but these numbers are not part of your inclusive minutes on either mobiles or landlines. Saynoto0870 is one of the few websites that can save you tons of money; either enter the company name or the 0845/0870 number and usually you'll be given at least one geographical number to call instead of the rip-off one. Utterly brilliant.

Fantastic site that has saved me loads of money - my landlines calls are free on Skype but I'd have to pay for 0870. A great service!
