Placed order for chair in early December 2008, cost £426 was taken by bank transfer. Delivery was promised before Christmas, when it became clear this wouldn't happen the order was cancelled. Ever since we have been trying to get our refund, calls, emails and letters go unanswered. We persued a claim only to find when the baliffs went in the address was a registered address and there were no goods to claim. AVOID THIS BUNCH OF CROOKS.

Don't order anything, don't part with any money because they don't deliver within promised timescale and when you cancel the order they don't send a refund - a bunch of crooks!

I have already posted on 28th march. Now, after I have sent a registered letter including a delivery deadline, I got my chair yesterday. They needed 7 month, with no rection for 4 month! Keep awy from this company!

I have commented on here back in February on this Company. You must get on to your Credit Card Company to get your money back. We did and we have now a full refund. Do not be stupid and pay by any other means than a Credit Card. These guys will appear on Watchdog, "Mark my words"

Avoid this company! We paid for a table and two chairs on the 2nd November 2008. Despite paying over 600 pounds by credit card we were never given a delivery date. Do not pay by bank transfer! After payment we were constantly fobbed off about delivery being 'asap' by 'Brian'. The call centre is based in New York despite ringing a UK number and the customer services team never get back in touch....sound familiar? On a happy note HSBC were able to refund my credit card very quickly and we got the table elsewhere.

I placed an order with Modern Classics Direct in May 2007 and paid in advance nearly £4000, and have never recieved the products. Numerous attempts to contact MCD by phone and e-mail have failed. I've also had the pleasure of being hung up on by someone called Carol several times! Nearly 2 years later and seeking a refund I get an american call centre telling me they will pass my claim onto the customer services department, who never call back. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

I ordered and paid by credit card furniture from this company (modern classics). I live in Switzerland. Believe it or not - I did not receive my delivery yet! nothing at all. And I can't get a manager or a responsable person to talk to. I keep getting useless mails from a guy called Brian, telling me (for months nowè!!!!) that the delivery would be shipped asap! HELP! what can I do, it really damn sucks! Best regards. B. Aregger

I have been waiting for delivery since placing a substantial, pre-paid order back in November 2008. I was promised a partial shipment "by the end of February (which never happened) and, despite repeated emails, I have heard nothing since. I have concluded that this is a scam organization and am claiming repayment via my credit card company. Buy from MDC at your peril.

Not a good Company to deal with - Taking your Money before shipping Product (Not clever or professional and should raise suspicions straight away), do not call back when they say they will and have no answers on your Delivery and no records when asked, only saying "we will call you back" The trail leads to a Solicitors Company in Croydon where four other Companies trade from. 'Do not deal with this Company!!
